Level 5

Fully Converted and Edited Vector files are created by
operator-assisted conversion.
Level 5 files are complete vector representations of original drawings, including all linework, true editable text, dimensions and pattern hatching and fills. Level 5 files are indistinguishable from those drafted on GIS or CAD software from scratch. Just like Level 4, these files are standard AutoCAD, Microstation or Arc/Info drawings delivered in their native formats or in industry-standard DXF format. The original document geometry is identified, extracted and fully cleaned-up. Text, dimensions and hatches are also included and fully editable using standard vector design software. Level 5 is required when the base document is needed in full vector format, including text and dimensions. These files are composed of edited linework, including full-size scaling, separation into intelligent layers and object geometry correction (orthogonal, perpendicular and endpoint adjustment). Just as in Level 4, object integrity (no overlapping or broken linework) is preserved as well.
Level 5 incorporates the
same Geometric Accuracy found in level 4. As for Level 4, the biasing
process consists of matching the scanned raster image to corresponding
vector-accurate known points. Biasing starts by creating monument points
entered by operator key-in into a master file. Known dimensions and
angles taken from the original drawing annotation are used to construct this
accurate vector frame, which is then matched to corresponding points on the
raster image. After the initial setup, we rubbersheet the scan to
achieve a perfect fit between the raster and the vector control points. This
produces a geometrically accurate raster file.
After the pre-processing is complete, the high-quality
linework conversion takes place. Experienced technicians drive it. This
is not a batch operation, but rather an intelligent, operator-driven process
based on computer-assisted line following and heads-up linework construction.
The result is a fully layered, geometrically accurate and
completely clean vector file. Our experienced operators assure accurate
line endpoint termination. Industry-standard layering and the incorporation of
all drawing contents including text, dimensions and hatchings, simplifies the
addition of Level 5 files into your workflow.
Since Level 5 conversion requires the most time and effort to complete, pricing is dependent on the actual complexity of each original drawing, particularly those with large amounts of textual and dimensional data. Of course, it will take considerably longer to convert a very complex drawing than a simple one, so actual costs are directly influenced by this factor. Although the evaluation of drawing complexity is a relatively abstract and difficult task, the following description attempts to illustrate the appearance of drawings in each one of these categories. Of course, the only way to correctly evaluate your drawings will be by direct inspection of all originals or at least of a representative sample.
COMPLEXITY: DRAWING
