What types of legacy data?

Any type you need to work with, such as:

Architecture/Facilities:

We have converted any imaginable type of architectural drawing, including foundation, basement, floor, roof, site and landscaping plans. Also, we have worked with sections, elevations and details for all types of design and construction disciplines, such as structural, mechanical, plumbing electrical, fire protection, telephone and communications. Schedules, specifications and logotypes have been converted as well.

We have captured and processed floor plan data to create and maintain accurate and current facility management databases. We have worked from paper-based plans and scanned them to digitally calculate actual square foot utilization by Department throughout a facility. Further, we have incorporated CAD files from consultants and other “newer” hand-produced drawings to create an evolving “as built” digital composite of the facility. Typical sites are updated on a regular basis to keep the database current, and matching CAD and spreadsheet files are delivered monthly or quarterly to government agencies, hospitals, schools and universities.

Engineering/Industrial:

We have experience in converting drawings for the manufacturing and industrial engineering disciplines, including piping and instrumentation diagrams, equipment design, parts manufacturing, wiring layouts and factory floor automation. We have converted factory, restaurant and hospital equipment plans, shelf layouts, materials flows and chemical piping among others. If you handle engineering discipline drawings, chances are we have converted some just like yours in the past.

Historic Preservation:

We have been involved in various preservation efforts of historic documents that are one-of-a-kind, irreplaceable and extremely delicate originals. We have been commissioned by several institutions and government agencies to produce these digital images, in both raster and vector that will preserve the integrity of the original for many years to come. Further, the existence of this new digital replica allows many scholars to view, analyze and work these documents even over the Internet, without the need to physically handle the original.

Topographic/Thematic Mapping:

We have worked with topographic maps since day one. In fact, due to the very nature of contour lines, these maps are difficult and time consuming to digitize using old-fashioned digitizing tables. The advent of large format scanning technology, coupled with our labor-efficient software, has allowed us to convert large numbers of contour maps in record time. Further, our optimization software produces the smallest possible digital files that accurately represent the paper map source. We can create contour maps in 2-dimensions, or optionally, incorporate the elevation data into fully 3-dimansional vector files ready for terrain modeling, triangulation and cut and fill calculations. We have ample experience in converting geological maps and sections as well as soils, slope, vegetation, hydrology and other thematic maps.

Cadastral/Civil Mapping:

Parcel and city maps as well as road and subdivision maps are a common sight in our office. We have converted street layouts for entire towns as well as plan and profile, civil site plans and right-of-way alignment maps. Our staff has worked on innumerable cadastral maps and on all kinds of utility maps including water, gas, electric, telephone and cable to name a few. Your mapping needs are covered within our expertise.

Photography/Renderings:

Finally, we are proud of our long history of scanning large-format artwork, individually or mounted, photographic or hand-rendered, black and white or color. We can capture the smallest detail with a wide tonal range boasting rich shadows and plenty of highlight detail. All images are color-corrected to faithfully match the original source materials, de-skewed, and cropped as needed to be ready-to-use as delivered. Furthermore, we routinely deliver multiple sets of sub-sampled copies of each original scan for the same price. This allows our clients to select the best image resolution and file size for each particular use, be it a letter-size report page or a full-size presentation print.
